Core admin tools

- Goal
- Be genuinely good at the tools that appear in almost every entry-level VA job post.
- Roughly
- 12 hours. Mostly doing, not watching.
Watch first
Lessons
- Gmail to a professional standard: labels, filters, rules, canned responses, and a triage system that separates urgent, waiting, and reference.
- Google Calendar: scheduling across timezones, buffers, recurring meetings, and a booking link using Calendly's free plan.
- Google Sheets: basic formulas (SUM, AVERAGE, COUNTIF, VLOOKUP or XLOOKUP), sorting and filtering, conditional formatting, and a summary tab.
- Google Drive: a folder structure a client could navigate without asking you, and sharing permissions you understand well enough to explain.
- Drill, do not just watch. Build a mock client inbox with a full label and filter system. Build a calendar with three recurring meetings across two timezones. Build a 50-row tracker with conditional formatting and a summary tab. Keep all three — they become your portfolio in Module 5.
