Zeroto VA — ZERO TO VA
A Self-Paced Lesson Plan for Starting as a Virtual Assistant With No Experience
Lessons • Video training • Checklists • Trackers
How this plan works
Nine modules, done at whatever pace life allows, ending in a first paying client — not a certificate. Certificates help a little. Proof of work and fast, clear communication are what actually get someone hired.
This document is interactive
The checklists tick when clicked and every blank is click-and-type. Fill it in as you go rather than printing it.
Three things to accept before you start
- No experience is normal. Most clients hiring entry-level VAs screen for reliability, communication, willingness to learn, and basic computer skills — not a work history. Some actively prefer beginners because they can train you into their own workflow.
- The first client takes two to four weeks of consistent applying, and usually 30 to 60 applications. That is the expected number, not a sign something is wrong with you.
- Training and applying overlap. Do not finish all nine modules before applying. Applications start in Module 8, and your profiles go live in Module 7.
Go at your own pace
No schedule, no deadline. A full-time job may mean three months; free all day may mean a fortnight. The order is what matters — each module's checklist produces something the next one needs — so work in sequence and start the next module whenever you have time. The hour estimates are rough totals, not a weekly quota.
